Written by T. H. Loh, Lecturer, School of Business and Social Sciences.

Think of an occasion where like-minded people gather from all parts of the world to exchange research knowledge and you would probably have grasped the objective of the 2nd International Conference on Business and Economic Research (ICBER).

Held recently in Pulau Langkawi, Kedah, from 14th to 15th March, 2011, the ICBER certainly lived up to its 'international' calling. There were presenters from many parts of the world – Canada, Japan, India, Iran, Indonesia, Thailand, Pakistan, Turkey, Myanmar and Uzbekistan amongst others.

The papers presented ranged from all the key disciplines in business: business law, marketing, management, economics, information technology, accounts, finance, operations management, entrepreneurship, human resource, organisational behavior and Islamic transaction.

Charity starts at home with O.M.G!

The amazing and fun-loving cast
“The play is excellent! It should be staged at KLPAC!” exclaimed Mrs Adrienne Pestana (Amelia Pestana’s mum) at the end of the preview of O.M.G! Charity Play which was presented to students and parents on 26th January 2011, held at KDU UC’s auditorium.
There are many people who deserve the credit for the success of the play: the crew members, the actors, the director, producer, the silent movers and shakers behind the scenes, and many more. One person deserves mention as he is a non-KDUver. He is Ad, the freelance theatre artiste, who simply enjoyed acting, singing, directing and training the students. “The cast is fantastic. Other than some minor technical sound problem, everything went on smoothly. They have been practising very hard for the last two months, and certainly, the play can be brought out to the public.”
