The Hook Up with Adrian Foong!

Bubbly and generous are words to describe Adrian Foong, the Senior Manager from Lelong.my. He has 7 years experience being in the e-commerce scene. He is also the co-founder of Malaysia’s number one online hardware store.
Mr. Foong made his way to KDU University College’s Damansara Jaya campus on 16th May 2012 to give a talk on e-commerce seller versus online seller. Providing a clearer picture to students from the Business, Computing and even Mass Communications School, he's here to inspire young entrepreneurs and get them to understand the difference between an online seller and e-commerce seller.

He began with an introduction on Lelong.my as a localised seller, the features and functions that the site provides for the convenience of both sellers and customers. A more in-depth explanation of Lelong.my was also provided as to deflect the negative fears and perceptions people may have regarding online purchasing.
Mr. Foong gave students an insight and useful knowledge on e-commerce. A thorough analysis on demographics based on states was shared with the students. By analyzing the purchasing power of consumers in Sabah & Sarawak, it showed that these two states are not to be overlooked as they can contribute up to 40% of your sales. Students were also given an in-depth outlook on the ways to become an e-commerce seller; from learning the basic such as the type of postings to monetary advices.
The career advices that he shared were golden. By sharing the unique products that are on demand, Mr. Foong has taught the students a thing or two on making a career out of e-commerce; from the targeted consumers to the products that can generate a huge impact on the market; the students were taking notes of his words eagerly, listening with utmost concentration.
Although the topics discussed were strictly business, the atmosphere was light. Students were more than willing to participate, eager for such a rare opportunity to gain insight and knowledge on the ever growing e-commerce industry that is showing no sign of stopping. The event was organized by KDU Department of Computing.
