We as Malaysians, must embrace of what we have today and not forgetting a vital part in our history. We might forget the names of the warriors that fought for our country or even the story that lies behind, evolving our country to what it is today. This time around, to reignite the sentiment of the 55th Merdeka Day, the KDU’s School of Communication and Creative Arts took the initiative to organize an Infographics Exhibition!
So, who were the involving parties? The art exhibition was organized by 57 Diploma in Mass Communication students from the Desktop Publishing class of KDU’s School of Communication and Creative Arts, under the guidance of Ms.Pouline Koh (Communication and creative arts lecturer and exhibition curator). The launch of the event took place at the "White Box" and Publika Solaris Dutamas on 27th August 2012. The exhibition will be ongoing from 28th August to 4th September from 11am to 7pm
3 distinguished guests also attended and supported the event. From left: Vice Chancellor of KDU, Dr Khong, Chairman of Malaysian Design Council, Yg Bhg Dato’ Prof. Dr. Ahmad Haji Zainuddin and Malaysian historian and Chancellor of KDU, Emeritus Prof. Tan Sri Dr. Khoo Kay Kim
This exhibition allowed students to portray their patriotism towards the country as well as displaying their creative artworks on the gallery for public's view. This project encourages great enthusiasm towards our Independence day and to acknowledge the history of Malaysia in this new era, where is it highly important for us to remember than to letting it fade away.
The showcase reminds us of the development, achievements and various interesting facts of our country that many may have forgotten along the years. The aim of this event is to also instill a sense of among youngsters, to represent history and cultural diversity through a contemporary visual arts exhibition and last but not least, to strengthen state identities and assist the development of cultural tourism in the country.
"I like to create something out of the module that I'm teaching, which is Desktop Publishing. All these are not just pieces of art works but the message behind each and every art work. Students learned everything from scratch, and until today, we are very excited to share this with the public. I am very proud of my students and this journey is a very memorable event for me. My heartfelt appreciation to KDU University College, my students and to the School of Communication and Creative Arts," expressed Pouline Koh (Curator).

We are in the process of developing this country into a design nation and you guys will be the country's ambassador. We need to push this country through design and make is as the main agenda. I have been teaching design in my last 30 years and I must say, this is a good work," he expressed.
