It's been a winning streak for SMK Bandar Utama 3. On 1st July, their student, Tew Zi Yi, won the 3rd prize at the annual KDU College Math & Science Quiz 2010. Two other students, Loo Yee Ying and Kua Wee Nie also won the 10th and 19th placings respectively. Tew Zi Yi professed that "to improve in Math, you have to do a lot of self-practice. Also thanks to our Math teacher, Puan Norazlina and Add Math teacher, Pn Gan, who are inspiring teachers." Yee Ying who aspires to be an Engineer, and Wee Nie who aims to be a doctor, shared that they both have the passion and interest for Math and this has enabled them to do well.

In congratulating the winners, Dr. Chia Chee Fen (CEO and Principal of KDU College), mentioned that KDU College also offers sports-related programme such as the Diploma in Golf Management. She also hoped that scholarship winners will one day contribute their talents to the country and that SMK BU3 students will continue to work hard academically and in co-curricular activities. It will put them in good stead to apply for other scholarships if they are active in sports too.

The Champs receive medals: SMK BU3's Boys' Basketball Team

Under the robust leadership of SMK BU3's Principal, Puan Azizah bt Yusoff and the dedicated teachers, SMK BU3 which is one of the top four schools in Petaling, has done exceedingly well. The former Champion of the KDU Math & Science Quiz 2009, Wong Jen Juan, was also from this school. He is currently a student at KDU College. KDU College looks forward to the continuous support from SMK BU3 students in sports, quizzes and talent competitions. As Dr. Chia said to them, "There's a winner in you, SMKBU3! Keep it up!"

A sense of good cheer prevails among the students and teachers, and the school has a lovely ambience with fish pools and well-tended gardens (look at photos below). It is indeed a privilege to study in a school where there is a healthy, clean and beautiful environment and where sports is not given a back seat, but highly encouraged among students. Today, when the basketball players are awarded with the 100% and 30% fee waiver (for runners-up winners) to pursue further education at KDU College, it is to say to them, "Academic results are important, but so is a healthy lifestyle. Enjoy your sports! At KDU College, we believe that champions are inspired, not born. It is our aspiration to inspire people to greatness!"
