CIE GCE A-Level- KDU UC Excellence Award

Proud students with their awards!

Every student deserve an award if they worked hard and put in their greatest effort in something.
This time around, the School of Pre-University Studies awarded students for their outstanding results in the Cambridge International Examinations General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (CIE GCE A Level) May/June 2011 Examinations. This calls for the KDU UC Excellence Award.
The award ceremony happened on 19th of August 2011, held at KDU University College, Damansara Jaya Campus. Parents, siblings and friends also attended to support the award recipients. The event also saw, Mr. Ng Kim Huat (CIE Regional Representative for Malaysia) as a special guest.

Our very down-to-earth emcee of that evening: Mr. Jaya Kumar (Programme Leader, Foundation Studies)

Dr.Tan Hui Leng (Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic), presenting her short speech in congratulating the students.

"It gives me great pleasure to stand here and talk to all of you. Today's event would not be the same if we did not give particular mention to people who have excelled. A lot of blood, sweat and tears have gone into this. Ladies and gentleman, to my colleagues of Pre-University Studies, well done in nurturing the students to get them this far. We, KDU UC, are proud to say, everyone of you here, are a part of a record performance students who achieved either 2 or 3A's, with a 100% pass rate. However 2 or 3 will have 3 or 4A's." She said.

In her teary-eyed speech, she also mentioned that some of the students has progressed to well known universities. Students should remember that they started their journey of success through KDU and that there are people who helped them along the way. She also borrowed a phrase from Dr. Todd Nelson (Head of School, Pre-U Studies) in her speech, "Always do well, do good"

-A standing ovation for themselves-

Students should be proud of themselves in getting this far. Achievements like this, comes a long way.
