This Chinese New Year 2012, marks the year of the dragon. As KDU illuminates the mood for the Chinese New Year celebration, the staff and members of KDU were treated to a great lunch buffet at the auditorium. Aside from that, staff and students had the chance to witness the lion and dragon dance performance. Students were thrilled and excited to watch the performance. The purpose of the lion dance annually at KDU, is to bless KDU and its premises. It is believed that, the lion dance brings in good fortune, happiness and good luck.
This is the time, where every race and religion gets to enjoy and experience the chinese culture during Chinese New Year. Of course not forgetting the tradition of the "Yee Sang or the Prosperity Toss"! The event took place at KDU Damansara Jaya campus on 1st February 2012.
In conjunction with the lunch event, the "Vice Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence" also took place at the same venue. These recipients have worked hard and were voted by their peers and department. Only four were chosen, and those four, were four very deserving academic staff. The award was presented by our very own Vice Chancellor, Dr. Teoh Kok Soo.
And the award goes to....
Ms.Ida Lopez (Programme Leader, Business Department)
Dr. Lee Chong Yew (Lecturer, School of Engineering)
Mr.Loh Teck Hua (Lecturer, Business Department)
Ms. Sathyavathy (Academic Department Head, School of Pre-U Studies)
We are indeed very proud of the award recipients! Their hard work, dedication, and inspiration brought them to this very stage here at KDU University College. We wish them continuous success and trust in this educational institution.

Let's all hope year 2012 will settle on its feet, bringing us to a whole new chapter of life. Make and live life differently. Let's all have a goal and direction as the year kicks in. Welcome February! In KDU, We create a community in which learning, teaching, research and publication are encouraged, enabled and enjoyed.
