Mr.Ko Chi Sum and Datin Teh Geok Lian (CEO, KDU Education Group)
Heads up for the Entertainment Arts students of KDU University College! A new facility has been build and improvised for these students to train and equipped themselves for a more comfortable environment to practise in. KDU presents the BLACK BOX! The Black Box acts as a performing arts studio and through this programme, students will be trained to be all-rounded performers, versatile and ever ready to take on any role, be it a radio presenter, emcee, stage actor, dancer and so on so forth. Students will have a vast variety of performing arts elements and activities to choose from. We believe in grooming them the right way, with a quality education here at KDU University College.
This time around, Mr.Ko Chi Sum was invited to officiate the launch of the Black Box. The official launch took place at KDU University College, Damansara Jaya campus on 29th May 2012. Who is Ko Chi Sum? His name would ring some ears, but for those who are not familiar with this gentleman, he is a renowned Hong Kong movie Director. He is currently the permanent honorary president of the Hong Kong Screenwriter’s
Guild. Apart from that, Mr. Ko’s background covers the education sector as well. He became the honorary professor of Hebei University, China in 2005. He was also the producer for Spring-Time Stage since 1995, and an added achievement, produced also the 17th Hong Kong Film Awards, which has became the the most viewed Hong Kong Film Awards ceremony in history. To hype up the mood of the audience, students from the KDU Performing Arts Club did a few awesome performances. These 3 lovely ladies, strutting their slick dance moves on the "Dream Girls" performance.
Students, Kevin and Hong Leong, took the stage, playing on a Cantonese song.
Affan and Ian Steven Ong, on a great rendition of "Waiting Outside the Lines", sang by Greyson Chance.
Meghan Soh, stealing the crowds attention by performing "Adele's" single hit, "Rolling in the Deep".
The last but not the least, was a beautiful contemporary dance performance by Jun Meng and Nabilah to end the event.
The students from Performing Arts Club definitely made an impression with their hair-raising performances. Such wonderful job done! We are so very proud of our students.
