Zakka Workshop- Design Your Own Bag!

The second Zakka workshop has arrived in its own unique form. This time around, participants were taught how to design their own personalized bag! The event took place at KDU University College, Damansara Jaya campus on 14th July 2012, to a room full of bag design enthusiast.

Proud participants with their personalized handmade bag!

Organized by the School of Communication and Creative Arts, the workshop was conducted by self-taught local renowned zakka maker Florence Lui who has been producing handmade bags since 1990s.
According to Florence, entrepreneurial makers should create products that not only look good but also functional and useful.

To keep up with the other DIY (Design-It-Yourself not Do-It-Yourself) zakka makers who are many decades younger, Florence keeps herself updated with the social media trend by publishing her work online through blog and Facebook page.
Florence thanked KDU for the opportunity to conduct such a large workshop as her regular workshop only caters up to 5 persons at a time. The experience pushes beyond her limit and she is glad that more people are able to learn the art of bag design.
The finished product! Such a beautiful outcome!
