17 May 2015 saw our students Daniel Wong Kok Keong and Danial Hakeim bin Zulbahrin participating in a road race competition on behalf of KDU University College. The race was held in Sepang International Circuit (SIC) and saw 300 participants pedalling their ways to the finish line.
At the start of the race, the first 40 kilometres saw the participants zooming past like bullet trains, all racing neck to neck with each other. Then the rain came when our KDU participants were almost at the last 20 kilometres of the track.
The rain was unrelenting, as if taunting them to go further. As it gradually became heavier, most of the participants slowed down and braced through the rain at a much slower pace for the track was slippery and the water was unforgiveable against flesh.
After all that, KDU is proud that one of our students; Daniel Wong Kok Keong had landed the 10th spot out of all 300. With the heavy rain and extremely fit competitors in the mix, he had certainly did very well. Clearly everyone went home as winners to have even tried overcoming the challenging race in the first place.
