The Voices of Moderation

On 21st September morning, KDU University College, Utropolis Glenmarie campus, was delighted to host managing director of the Star Media Group, Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai, and founder of Zubedy Publication, Anas Zubedy to participate in a discourse session entitled The Voices of Moderation.

With a hundred over KDU students in attendance, the objective was to enlighten these young minds of the growing social and political issues of Malaysia, how best to approach it, and inspire young Malaysians to act for a better and brighter Malaysia.

Moderation, by common definition, is the avoidance of excess or extremes, especially in one's behaviour or political opinions. However, as defined by Datuk Wong and Mr. Zubedy, moderation is finding the median of extremities.

“We hear many things today about the issue of race. What I have come to understand is that there no such thing as a “race” problem, there is only a “human” problem,” said Mr. Zubedy. “This is an example of moderation; finding the median in extremities,” he added.

“Moderation is not limited to how we view things only, moderation can be applied to every facet of daily living,” said Datuk Wong. “It is my wish to see young people become passionate about the future of Malaysia, and instead of complaining or being dissatisfied with the way things are, will act to make a positive and lasting difference,” he concluded.
