Minggu Kebudayaan Melayu is back for the 7th year running!
With a theme that focused on our multicultural society, “Citra Warna: Kesatuan Dalam Kepelbagaian”, our Malay Cultural Society (MCS) departed from its yester years’ tradition of immersing the Minggu Kebudayaan Melayu with the culture and tradition of all things Malay, and sought to embrace the traditions of Malaysia’s three main races, Malay, Indian and Chinese, and portray the races’ values in every aspect of the event.
As a week-long melting pot affair, the MKM was a fusion of our country’s race, ethnicity, culture and tradition. Keeping true to its slogan ‘Kesatuan Dalam Kepelbagaian’, which means unity in diversity, the underlying message of the 2010 MKM was clear; multiracialism is our asset and exclusivity as Malaysians.
The week-long event was kicked off on the 2nd August 2010 and the launch was graced by Datin Paduka Marina Tun Mahathir, KDU College Principal & CEO Dr Chia Chee Fen, Vice Principal Dr. Tan Hui Leng , Patron of MCS Datin Lily Zaiton, Teacher Advisor of MCS Mr. Oo Cheng Keat , President of MCS Yugenderan a/l Balamohan, as well as teachers and students from various secondary schools.
