It’s all about friendship

Some participants at the discussion

The “How to make Friends” workshop was organised by the Counseling Unit of the Student and Alumni Centre. Held at the campus in Damansara Jaya, the workshop aimed to help students build their communication skill to enhance their quality of college life.

We often tend to focus on “what to speak about in the first conversation”. However, we cannot abandon the beauty of body language in our daily life. Our body language reflects our feelings, behaviour and attitudes when we are communicating to others.  Body language also contributes towards first impressions when starting a relationship of any kind. During the workshop, the group highlighted some points that we should take into consideration when starting a conversation.

The Happiness Project 2014: Four Days of Friendship, New Experiences, And Unadulterated Joy

Group reflection activity after watching “The Lion King”

Happiness is a unique term, in that it is defined differently by each individual. In our hectic lives, we tend to forget our definitions of happiness and fall into the trap of constantly pursuing success to be happy. It is a vicious cycle of finding a goal, achieving it, earning a small dose of happiness before repeating the cycle, until we are six feet under. That is no way to live, so The Happiness Project was started in 2012 to show people that happiness brings success, not the other way around. Since then, it's been a yearly event, bringing the students of KDU closer to their own personal brand of happiness.
