Teaching & Learning Colloquium- Series 6 (NLP in the Classroom)

We live in a society that comprises of different types of people. Each of us behave differently, interpret differently, think differently and act differently. When a lecturer, communicator, presenter or facilitator presents to the audience, they need to know how to communicate and interact with them, thus, making them understand your presentation more effectively.
How so?
Ms.Lim Kit Wan suggested the NLP method. NLP also stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. The Teaching and Learning Colloquium Series 6 of "NLP in the Classroom" took place at KDU University College, Damansara Jaya campus on 25th November 2011.

Teaching & Learning Colloquium- Series 6 (NLP in the Classroom)

You might have heard of the "NLP" before, which also stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. However, how do you implement the NLP methodology in today's teaching and learning? NLP is the study of subjective experience and it enables people to communicate and connect with each other better. It gives you the extra tick to understand the audience more effectively, thus, creating a rapport with them, be it in a classroom or social setting.
While some students have short attention span in class, while others find that the learning environment becomes mundane for them, it is time to discover new learning method and skills from others. Like what KDU's tagline says, "People Inspire People."

The Teaching and Learning Colloquium!

Participants taking part in an activity related to NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)

Sometimes, being in classes or simply listening to a presentation could be a bore. Find yourself dragging your feet to classes most of the time?
Well, there are ways where lecturers and facilitators or even students could improve that particular problem while doing a presentation or lecture.
In that way, listeners could lengthen their attention span without falling asleep or divert their attention somewhere else.
How?
A great effort and initiative was taken by the Teaching and Learning Centre where they held a colloquium so that new methods and practices could be shared among participants.
3 great presenters shared their methods on "Teaching & Learning" during the colloquium.
Held at KDU UC for the first time on 15th July 2011, Damansara Jaya Campus, participants are already looking forward to the next session!
