So You Want To Be A Radio DJ?

Nope, curiosity didn’t kill the cat, but it got the better of some students who participated in our ‘Radio DJ For A Day’ workshop held recently.

Conducted by lecturers Wong Lee Sa, Ruly Bitay Cagadas and Hilmyzam Zainal Aripin, the workshop kicked start with Ruly sharing his experiences as a DJ for over 10 years, what it takes to be one and most importantly, the fun fun FUN!

Soon after, participants were brought into our recording studio, Creative Waves, to record a prepared script. But, who likes to sound the same, right? So, some students took the initiative to edit the script to their own style instead, which made the recording more interesting.

Once the recording was done, it was on to the editing session with Hilmyzam. A little tweak here, a little tweak there and VOILA, the participants had their own broadcast! Students were impressed as to how a simple recording could sound so different with simple editing skills.

With their curiosity satiated, the participants took home the sound clip of their recording session to commemorate the day they became a radio DJ (even if it was just for a short while).
