Some management gurus refer to two specific dimensions to define quality – performance quality and conformance quality. Performance quality is often associated with operational superiority. Conformance quality is the consistency in reproducing the same quality results repeatedly in a reliable and dependable manner. If such are the measures of quality then KDU UC can indeed claim to be an institution of outstanding quality.

Grace Goh and Roxzanne Manohran have continued what seemed like a KDU tradition by winning the prestigious Vice Chancellor’s Commendation Award for Academic Excellence from Murdoch University, Australia. KDU has won the same award consecutively in recent years! Winning the award meant that both students were placed amongst the top 2% of students enrolled in the Bachelor Degree programme and have achieved a minimum of 15 credit points at high distinction level within the review period. No mean feat indeed. That 2% covered students from across all campuses in all locations worldwide - a testimony to the outstanding achievement of both students and the KDU UC Business School teaching team!

The Business School team was jubilant! An informal award presentation ceremony was organized on 24th May 2012 to recognize the students’ achievement. The Chancellor of KDU University College Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dr. Khoo Kay Kim, Vice Chancellor of KDU University College Dr. Tan Hui Ling, Head of School, Business and Law, Mr Jonson Chong and Academic Department Head of the Business School Dr. Goh Pek Chen graced the event. Both the teaching team and the many friends and students present congratulated the award winners. It was an inspiring moment for all. For the teachers, it was the sweet taste of the fruits of their labor. For the students, it was an achievement they can aspire to – coming up tops is a possible dream. For everyone else, it is the sharing of a joyous occasion amongst friends and fellow colleagues.
