The best way to cheer yourself is to try to
cheer someone else up. -Mark Twain-
Students from KDU University College, Bachelor of Communication (Hons) events management class recently organized a Random Happy Day. The students strolled around the heart of Kuala Lumpur, in the LRT station, in the LRT train itself and around walkways in KL city. They were randomly going around giving out free candies and balloons without asking any favour in return.
The event took 3 days, internally in KDU University College Damansara Jaya
campus, externally at KL city and at Rumah Titian Kaseh. Tititwangsa. In the
corporate social responsibility point of view, they managed to raise RM 950 by
selling candies internally and by donations given out, all to the Rumah Titian
Kasih.
Instead of looking at bored, routine-like faces every day, the students
managed to lit a smile on their face, and for some, they were filled with
laughter and compliments.
The public were shocked, surprised and happy when the
students began to sing and dance in the train. Most of them took out their
phones and cameras to record the on-going process. There were no advertising
done before the event as this event is supposed to convey the element of
randomness and surprises.
Special thanks to: The School of Communication and Creative Arts/ KDU University College/Proton/ Ms.Farah Izyan, RapidKL, Rumah Titian Kasin and to all who donated, volunteered during the event.
