Happy 57th Merdeka!

Students and Staff of KDU celebrate Merdeka Day

The Student & Alumni Centre and Student Councils were giving out Malaysian flags to the students today to celebrate the Malaysian Independence Day which falls on 31st August every year.

They dressed up in their traditional costumes to remind how we Malaysians, from different races have united as one beautifully. It was fascinating to read the poignant messages that both Malaysian and international students have left on the chalk board. Merdeka day is definitely a meaningful occasion for all Malaysians. It is to reflect on not only what was accomplished, but also to learn far we have come and how much more we can achieve as a nation united as one. G.K. Chesterton once said, “Men did not love Rome because she was great. She was great because they loved her.” So Malaysia, we love you!

KDU University College 2014 Sport Carnival

The winning team for KDU Sport Carnival 2014 – The Red team (School of Business and Law)

Organized by the KDU University College Sports club with the support of the Student & Alumni Centre, Sports Carnival returned for 2014 and featured a number of new games as well as collaborations with a number of partners to spice things up. The students and staff were divided in to four separate houses to compete in nine different sports events to determine not only which house would be the champion of 2014 but also who the best sportsman and woman from the students and staff.  We would like to take also take this opportunity to extend our thanks to our sponsors and partners Adidas, GenYes, and Hasbro Malaysia for their support of this year’s event, and hope to work with them again next year.

KDU University College's Students Entreprenuership Conference

KDU University College held its inaugural Student Entrepreneurship Conference over two-days at its Damansara Jaya campus and brought more than a 100 students from various universities both locally and internationally to listen to “rock star” entreprenuers in their own sectors to share their experiences with students in the hope that this will expand their knowledge and ignite the spirit of entrepreneurship. The conference was held with the aim to holistically equip the students with the knowledge of the big picture on where the nation is heading, the highs and lows of the being an entrepreneur as well as how to begin their journey as entrepreneurs utilising Blue Ocean Strategy thinking.
