Fun Class with Mr. Lee Swee Keong!

KDU University College's Entertainment Arts students were fortunate enough to have an exclusive class session with the one and only Mr.Lee Swee Keong for 2 days. This encourages full participant of the students, going in-depth of the entertainment arts scene. We bring in industry professionals to mould students to what they want to achieve, and reaching them closer to their goals and dreams. The class took place at the Black Box studio, KDU University College, Damansara Jaya campus.

He taught the students on body movement in the dance and movement class.

KDU Zakka Workshop- Everyone is a Creative Entrepreneur


Recently, KDU School of Communication and Creative Arts has taken an interest in Japanese zakka culture, bringing the interest from local arts bazaar scene into the institution. On June 16, the “Stitch Your Own Notebook” workshop kicked off the series of zakka events, aiming to turn arts, hobbies, skills and interests into an ever possible entrepreneurship.

With a strong group of 30 participants made up of zakka enthusiasts from different background – students, educators, homemakers and other professions, they learned the aesthetic of kettle stitching taught by local renowned zakka maker, Samsiah Jendol of Little Syam.

2 days MAKEOVER with the Amber Chia Academy!

5 lucky students from the KDU Entertainment Arts had the chance to undergo a makeover by the Amber Chia Academy. This plays an important role for the performing arts students as they need to be well groomed in order for them to be on stage plays, TV, or even performances. First impression always counts, be it during interviews, meetings, or even during business presentations. This time around, the Amber Chia Academy, which consists of 4 main important people, Supermodel Amber Chia herself, Catwalk Guru, Benjamin Toong, professional make-up artist, Jil Yong and fashion stylist, Swing. Tagged along in this event were also the Mass Communication students where they get the chance to experience and cover the event.

喜剧给我们带来欢乐,但是那欢乐背后隐隐作痛的,往往是一个重要的人生启示。在观众尽情的笑时,在一名导演的心里,是不是也在尽情欢笑呢?应该是的,因为如果导演都笑了,那观众也一定会开心的;但是,在一个导演的心里,更为重要的,有可能是如何在创作喜剧时,在笑声中发挥无限创意。这创意是极富挑战性的。香港知名电影导演高志森将与我们分享他历年丰富之制作与导演经验,并给创作者、学生、学者、以及热爱电影的朋友们讲述喜剧里的源源创意。

The next Hook-Up series will be a very interesting one. Presenting you, Mr.Ko Chi Sum! He is a renowned Hong Kong Movie Director. Chi Sum currently holds the position of the permanent honorary president of the Hong Kong Screenwriter's Guild. He was also the producer of the 17th Hong Kong Film Awards. He'll be giving a public lecture on being creative in comedy films, sharing his experience in film making, challenges faced and how to think creatively in film making. Join him at:

Official Launch of KDU MyGameDev2020!

The Game Development industry sees a great opportunity and demand for skillful and creative talents in the upcoming future. The young generation these days, has what it takes to push and generate ideas on the gaming industry here in Malaysia. Recently, KDU University College has been given the green light by PEMANDU's Education National Key Results Area (NKEA) Steering Committee for the establishment of MyGameDev2020, as an Entry Point under the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP). The event took place at KDU University College, Damansara Jaya campus on 24th April 2012.

KDU is looking forward to a significant growth and role in building the Game Development Industry in Malaysia. With this official launch of MyGameDev2020, it is hoped that the Entry Point Project will enable Malaysia to become a leading Game Development centre in the region with a firm reputation as a creator of high quality, creative talents and content. KDU also aims to produce creative and potential individuals thus, creating an attractive package for foreign game developers and investors; and an incubation and support hub for independent game developers.

The Hook Up With Dato' CQ Teo



The Hook-up series is back! Organized by KDU and the Department of Communication and Media Studies, the series this time, will be featuring a special and astonishing man, none other than Dato' CQ Teo. He is the Executive Chairman of the KDU Education Group.
He took his life and ambitions to a whole new level and became who he is today. From this session, we will be heading to a journey of his past experiences and a couple of inspirational lessons he learnt throughout his life. At 62, he also chose the 52km challenge instead of those in the lower categories at the OCBC Cycle Malaysia 2011 and his target was 3 hours! Let's attend this session and hear it from the man himself.

Performing Arts Courses- An Introduction to Modern Jazz/ Hip Hop




Do you find passion in dancing? Inspired by great dancers and choreography? 
Well, this is your chance to bring out the dancer in you. Who knows? You might just be the next professional or famous dancer. How? Do sign up for award-winning choreographer, Suhaili Micheline's Modern Jazz and Hip Hop classes in November. We assure you will have loads of fun dancing and grooving!

An Introduction of Suhaili 
She is a dance lecturer at the National Arts Academy Aswara and an International performer. Her works have included 2=1 for Aswara's comtemporary dance showcase Jamu in 2008, and Nerds Gone Nuts- which won the first prize in the dance category for short+sweet in 2009. In 2007, she was the Finalist on 8TV's reality show, So You Think You Can Dance (Season one). She managed to clinch 2 awards (For dance category soloist and duet alongside Naim Syahrazad) at the 2010 World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles. She made the country proud!

Performing Arts Courses- Harnessing the Body, Free the Soul, Embrace a Personality

KDU Performing Arts courses: These days, it takes more than just good speech to communicate with people, be it your colleagues, friends, senior management members and so on so forth. Body language has become vital too. The body needs to come into play (Like how professional actors do) to become more effective communication entities. Presenting you, Ms.Mary Ann (Communication skills & Performing Arts Consultant and Trainer based in Singapore) to embrace a personality in you, to harness the body and free the soul to a more effective communication.
