Suffice to say that one of the most important jobs in the global entertainment industry worth trillions of dollars is that of the Producer.

Entertainment Arts Bootcamp 2013!

Weekends. What do school students do on weekends? These students in their Form 4 and 5 participated in a mini boot camp which was organized by KDU University College together with the School of Communication and Creative Arts. So, what about this boot camp? Local celebrities in the entertainment arts scene were invited over to this boot camp to inspire students who are keen in the entertainment industry.

First station: Hunny Madu shared her experiences on hosting

Apart from sharing her experiences on hosting, she also did a role play with the students, demonstrating the right way to interview a guest. To excite the session, she also performed a rendition of "Call Tyrone" by Erykah Badu. Click HERE to hear her sing!

AIYOO!- A Lunchtime Performance



Lunch times can be a bore at times. However, a little fun is in this time. The School of Communication and Creative Arts launched the SCCA Lunchtime Performance so that the KDU Community can come together, have fun and a good laugh, relax, enjoy as well as catching culture and art live at the Black Box studio. The first performance took place at KDU University College, Damansara Jaya campus on 19th March 2013.

Fun Class with Mr. Lee Swee Keong!

KDU University College's Entertainment Arts students were fortunate enough to have an exclusive class session with the one and only Mr.Lee Swee Keong for 2 days. This encourages full participant of the students, going in-depth of the entertainment arts scene. We bring in industry professionals to mould students to what they want to achieve, and reaching them closer to their goals and dreams. The class took place at the Black Box studio, KDU University College, Damansara Jaya campus.

He taught the students on body movement in the dance and movement class.

Theatre Talk by Industry Professionals!


The theatre scene in Malaysia is definitely growing strong and steady. On 18th July 2012, three distinguished guests from the Malaysian theatre scene arrived at KDU University College, Damansara Jaya campus. These guests were Dato’ Faridah Merican, Mark Beau de Silva and Christopher Ling, from KLPAC (The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre).
Dato’ Faridah Merican is the Co-founder and executive producer of The Actors Studio Malaysia and The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC). She is often referred to as the First Lady of Theatre in Malaysia and has been awarded the BOH Cameronian Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions to the performing arts in Malaysia. Her talk was titled “The Business of Theatre, Now and Then”.

2 days MAKEOVER with the Amber Chia Academy!

5 lucky students from the KDU Entertainment Arts had the chance to undergo a makeover by the Amber Chia Academy. This plays an important role for the performing arts students as they need to be well groomed in order for them to be on stage plays, TV, or even performances. First impression always counts, be it during interviews, meetings, or even during business presentations. This time around, the Amber Chia Academy, which consists of 4 main important people, Supermodel Amber Chia herself, Catwalk Guru, Benjamin Toong, professional make-up artist, Jil Yong and fashion stylist, Swing. Tagged along in this event were also the Mass Communication students where they get the chance to experience and cover the event.
