Preparing for the Real World: Pursuit of Dreams
(Ahmad Fadzly: Advocating that tomorrow starts today.)
A young budding lawyer, Ahmad Fadzly Abdul Gani from Messrs Azmi and Fadzly, was a guest speaker for the Year 2 law students to present a talk on “Expectations in Legal Practice.” This talk was attended by 50 law students from both OBU 2+1 Twinning Programme and University of London (External Programme).
In his speech, Ahmad Fadzly has advocated that the law graduates nowadays must be ready to face the demands not only from the law firms, but also from the clients and the courts. In order to make sure that the law graduates are prepared to face the challenges posed by the real world, they must start improving their English language, communication skills, research skills, confidence level and the expectations in the legal practice.

Former law students grateful for dedicated and learned lecturers
An inspiring journey took place for Serena who graduated with an LLB (Hons) from Oxford Brookes University (OBU), UK in 2005. She began her studies at KDU and transferred over to OBU to complete her degree. Upon graduating at OBU, she was granted the privilege to be called to the Bar in England & Wales in 2006. She subsequently commenced pupilage with an established law firm in Kuala Lumpur and continued practicing in the same firm after being admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2007. Driven to Heal the World
Written by: Ann Teoh
They come from similar backgrounds: being raised and bred in the city, smart and educated in KDU College, all with one goal – to earn their degrees and carve splendid careers of their dreams.
They were selected to attend a University Scholars Leadership Symposium in Malacca (from 1st – 7th August 2010), and they were very much impacted by life-sharing experiences of human trafficking, extreme poverty, abandoned and abused children.
They came away from the symposium very much touched, renewed, and driven with a personal vision: to serve society with their talents, compassion and the determination to make this a better place, and to “heal the world”, as sung by Michael Jackson.
Najwa Amira, Ooi Shar Mayn and Benjamin Koh echo that single thought, and they quoted the words of Mahatma Gandhi: Be the change that you want to see in the world.

BRITISH DEGREE - SEPTEMBER INTAKE
Written by: Ann Teoh

September marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadhan for the Muslims, and the ushering in of the celebration of Hari Raya Puasa. Many Malaysians will be taking the opportunity of this long holiday to travel the length of the peninsula to visit friends and families. Then, on 16th September, it is another day for Malaysians to rejoice - being Malaysia Day. In KDU College, another day to look forward to is Graduation Day which falls on 25th September. With so many occasions to celebrate, it is indeed a month of joyfulness.
For many students, it has been a sigh of relief too, as they have completed the tough years of the GCE A-Levels or the SPM examinations. If you have not yet decided on your future course of studies, you may want to know more about pursuing either the Law, Business or Engineering programmes which offer you a British university degree. Start off at KDU College where People Inspire People, and we want to inspire you to achieve a wonderful career.
